60% of 200 respondents 与60% of all residents不是同一范围。

Text A: An Operator’s Update(原创虚构数据)

During the first six months of the town’s shared electric-bicycle service, monthly rentals rose from 4,000 to 6,500. The operator described the increase as a sign that the scheme was becoming part of daily travel. In a voluntary online survey of 200 registered users, 60% said it had made at least one regular journey more convenient. Several respondents mentioned trips between the railway station and the town centre. The operator plans to add more bicycles at the busiest stations.

Text B: A Transport Group’s Response(原创评论)

The rental figures show that the service is being used, but they do not tell us what would have happened without it. A bicycle trip that replaces a car journey has different implications from one that replaces walking or an existing bus trip. The survey asked users about convenience, not about all their travel choices.

Location matters too. Most stations are in the centre, while residents in outer neighbourhoods may have little opportunity to try the service. Asking only registered users cannot explain why other residents have not joined. The response also notes that no systematic comparison of road injuries has been reported. These gaps are reasons for better evaluation, not proof that the service has failed. Future reports should distinguish popularity among users from changes in transport across the whole town.

A new interchange improved connections between buses and trains, but residents on the outskirts still faced long last-mile journeys. Rising ridership showed that more trips were being made on the service; it did not alone establish a modal shift away from cars. Fare changes, new destinations and population growth could also affect the totals. Comparing spatial distribution and accessibility helped planners see which groups gained mobility and which still faced barriers.

A. Rising rentals establish a town-wide shift away from car travel. B. The operator’s survey mainly evaluates road-injury risk. C. The service is popular among some users, but its wider effects need better evidence. D. Outer neighbourhoods report the same convenience as the centre.

  6. 示例:The operator’s report describes rising use of shared electric bicycles and convenience reported by many surveyed users. The transport group does not deny these benefits, but notes that rental totals do not show which journeys have been replaced. It also questions whether outer neighbourhoods have equal access and observes that safety effects were not measured. Together, the texts suggest that the service has attracted users, while evidence about its wider transport and environmental impact remains incomplete.

  9. 示例:Ridership on the railway has increased, whereas residents on the outskirts still report difficult last-mile journeys. An evaluation should consider proximity to stations as well as the total number of trips.
